Fatal motorcycle crash in Jefferson Township

CASS COUNTY, Mich. --Sheriff Richard J. Behnke reports that his office was called for a crash near Dailey Rd. and Jefferson Center St., in Jefferson Township, on Jul. 20, around 3:30 p.m.

The investigation shows that a 22-year-old Granger resident was traveling northbound on Dailey Rd., just north of Jefferson Center St., where he lost control of his motorcycle to the right, causing him to hit multiple trees.

After hitting multiple trees, the motorcycle did come to rest down.

The driver of that motorcycle was pronounced deceased at the scene, and he was wearing a helmet.

Speed does not appear to be a factor in this crash, and it's currently unknown is drugs or alcohol were a factor in this crash.

This crash still remains under investigation.
