Lightning may be the only thing lighting up the sky tonight
LA PORTE COUNTY, Ind. -- A 23-year-old woman was found dead inside a home on fire near Hanna, in La Porte County.
A deputy from the local sheriff's office responded to a call just after midnight on Saturday night. Due to heavy smoke, first responders could not enter the premises right away. Several nearby fire departments responded and were able to extinguish the fire.
23-year-old Kathryn Zabel was found dead inside the home. The cause of the fire is unclear, and an investigator from the state Fire Marshall office was called to the scene. The incident is still under investigation, and ABC57 will update this story if more information becomes available.
