Fatal crash in Chikaming township kills one, injures another

BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich. – A fatal crash on Warren Woods Road, near Prairie Road, kills a 58-year-old man and injures a 58-year-old woman on Saturday around 7:43 pm, according to the Chikaming Township Police Department.

Initial investigation reveals that a vehicle was driving east on Warren Woods Road was struck by a vehicle driving west on the same road.

The driver of the eastbound vehicle, a 58-year-old woman from Three Oaks suffered serious injuries. She was taken to the hospital and is in stable condition, officers said.

Her passenger, a 58-year-old man from Three Oaks, was pronounced dead at the scene. Names of the victims are being withheld at this time.

The driver of the westbound vehicle did not suffer any injuries, officers said.

According to the report, drugs or alcohol do not appear to be a factor in the crash. This crash remains under investigation at this time.
