NOW: Fans thrilled by Mishawaka meet and greet with Notre Dame football players

MISHAWAKA, Ind. -- Today, DICK’S Sporting Goods in Mishawaka hosted six Notre Dame Football players for an autograph signing.

There to meet and greet fans were Jordan Faison, CJ Carr, Drayk Bowen, Jaden Greathouse, Mylan Graham, and Leonard Moore. Fans got to chat, take pics, and get autographs.

The players tell us that Coach Freeman emphasizes the importance of giving back to their community and encourages his players to get out and meet the fans as much as possible.

Linebacker Drayk Bowen told us "A ... couple of us guys on the football team are coming out ...to get back to the community. So, we're going to be out here, you know, talking with people, interacting, kind of a meet and greet type deal, you know, taking pictures, signing autographs, kind of whatever, whatever people want. You know it's a culture that Coach Freeman builds... You know, the responsibility of being a Notre Dame football player. You also have to give back, and ...that's something that we try to uphold at Notre Dame.

Asked why he and the other players enjoy these events, Bowen said "You know, I think it's seeing how excited people get to come see us... like we all don't think that we're, you know, whatever, but ....the people that come support us, ...it's so exciting for us, and I don't think people realize that it's so exciting for us to be able to interact with the fans. To see them, you know, because you love the fans that come support you, day in and day out. And so, when you get to actually talk with them, meet with them, you know, see them and you know, interact with them. It's so meaningful and so exciting for us."
