FAFSA filing deadline extended to April 18

The deadline to file the 2022-2023 Free Application for Federal Student Aid has been extended to April 18, the Indiana Commission for Higher Education announced.

The original deadline, April 15, is a state holiday so state offices will be closed.

Students must file FAFSA to be eligible for most financial aid, such as the 21st Century Scholarship and Workforce Ready Grant.

The Commission and INvestEd is hosting two Facebook Live events to help Hoosier families understand FAFSA:

Saturday, April 2

  • Noon to 1 p.m. (EST)

Wednesday, April 13

  • 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. (EST)

The Commission is also hosting an in-person FAFSA filing event with Ivy Tech Community College on Saturday, April 9 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. EST.

This filing event takes place at the college, located at 50 West Fall Creek Parkway, North Drive, Indianapolis.

Commission staff will also be around to help 21st Century Scholars with the Scholar Success Program.

The Commission’s outreach members are hosting other FAFSA events around the state.
