Police were called to the crash just before 1:30 p.m. on Friday to Ironwood Drive and Jackson Road, near the St. Joseph County Fairgrounds and South Bend City Line.

Three vehicles were involved in the incident, with one car crashing through a fence and ending up in a nearby homeowner's yard. One driver was pronounced dead on the scene. Another driver and a passenger were taken to the hospital with minor injuries, while the third driver was cleared at the scene. Police are still working to notify the family of the driver who was killed.

The St. Joseph County Fatal Crash Team is now investigating the incident. Ironwood Drive remains closed between Jackson and the U.S. 20 Bypass while officials work.
