FACT identifies pedestrian killed near Saint Mary's

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. -- The St. Joseph County Fatal Crash Team has released the identity of the woman who was killed while crossing 933 at Saint Mary's Road Saturday afternoon.

The victim has been identified as 69-year-old Winifred Hale.

Investigators say Hale was crossing SR 933 when she was hit by a northbound vehicle.

Hale died at the scene.

The driver cooperated with the investigation.

Impairment did not appear to be a factor in the crash, investigators said.

Toxicology results are pending.
