ELKHART, Ind. -- Elkhart Police are investigating a fatal shooting that happened in the 1200 block of S. Main Street Friday afternoon.
Police were dispatched to 1245 S. Main Street just before 4:30 p.m. and located a man with gunshot wounds.
The victim was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
The Elkhart County Homicide Unit responded to the scene.
Police said there have been no arrests, but there is no threat to public safety.
