Elkhart General announces layoffs

ELKHART, Ind. -- Elkhart General has had to take steps to keep in line with a lower than expected budget.
On Friday, the hospital announced it is eliminating 40 positions, some of which will result in layoffs.
The hospital said part of the budget shortfall has to do with the high unemployment rate in the country.
