JACKSON, Mich. -- The Edwardsburg Eddies claimed their spot to contend for the state title after prevailing over River Rouge High School Saturday afternoon in Jackson, Michigan. This would be the first time in school history for the Eddies.
The game started off with a little back-and-forth scoring between the teams as the Eddies went into half time trailing the Panthers.
They came back full force with two interceptions in the second half accompanied by plenty of scoring.
The Eddies are going to state with a 32-21 win over River Rouge.
They will play at Ford Field in Detroit at 7:30 p.m. next Friday against Grand Rapids Central Catholic.
