Dustin's Place to hold its first-ever "Blank and Me" dance
Dustin\'s Place PLYMOUTH, Ind. -- Dustin's Place will host its first-ever "___ (Blank) and Me" dance on March 12, creating an inclusive alternative to traditional parent-child dances for children who have experienced the loss of a parent or loved one.
The event is open to children across the entire regional area, not limited to families currently receiving services at Dustin’s Place. The goal is to ensure families who may not know about available grief resources still have access to this opportunity. Dinner begins at 5:30 p.m., followed by dancing from 6 to 8 p.m.
Based in Marshall County, Dustin’s Place serves a growing regional population, with approximately 63% of children served coming from St. Joseph County. Additional programming is scheduled to expand into South Bend-area schools in 2026, reflecting increasing demand for childhood grief support services.
The event is free for those who attend, community sponsorships will make the event possible. The cost to provide dinner, décor, music and a full dance experience is approximately $55 per child. Donations directly support participation for children and families who may otherwise be unable to attend.
Supporters can sponsor a child or become an event partner by texting DP to 50155 or visiting dustinsplace.org/dance.
