Downtown South Bend celebrates fall with October First Fridays event

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – Downtown South Bend is celebrating fall this weekend with their October First Fridays event, Oktoberfest, on October 1.
The event will be held along the 200 block of S. Michigan Street from 5 to 9 p.m.
This month’s event boasts a beer garden, German food from Weiss’ Gasthaus, a fall photo op, live music from The Erly, and more.
Guests can also watch participants rappel off the Robertson’s Building during Over the Edge, which raises funds for Youth Service Bureau of St. Joseph County.
A number of other events will be happening in addition to Oktoberfest, including:
- Football Fridays, a community tailgate on the Gridiron ahead of the Notre Dame v. Cincinnati matchup on Saturday
- Pumpkin Palooza at the South Bend Chocolate Café
- Shamrock-toberfest, celebrating Fiddler’s Hearth’s 19th anniversary
