ABC 57 BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich. -- The Berrien County Sheriff's Office conducted a countywide warrant sweep targeting individuals wanted for domestic violence. The sweeps resulted in 10 arrests, five felonies, and five misdemeanors, with all suspects lodged at the Berrien County Jail. In total, officers made nearly 50 attempts to locate subjects on outstanding domestic violence warrants.
The warrant sweep was part of a special initiative brought by the Sheriff in recognition of October as Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
The Sheriff's office emphasized that these sweeps are part of an ongoing effort to address domestic violence year-round, not just during awareness month. Officers continue to partner with local victim advocacy groups and community organizations to connect survivors with resources and support services.
