Dazhon Howard accepts plea agreement in fatal UP Mall shooting

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. -- The St. Joseph County Prosecutors’ Office has reached a plea agreement with Dazhon Howard, who fatally shot Delany Crosby Jr at the University Park Mall in September 2020.
Howard agreed to plead guilty to voluntary manslaughter. The murder charge will be dismissed.
Howard’s March 2022 trial ended in a hung jury.
The prosecutor’s office says it consulted with Crosby’s family before offering the agreement.
Howard agreed to serve 10 years in prison, but the full sentence and other terms of the sentence will be determined at his sentencing hearing on June 7.
