Cultivate Food Rescue provides thanksgiving meals for families
SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Cultivate Food Rescue held its second annual 'No Empty Tables' campaign to provide families with Thanksgiving meals.
The main mission is making sure that families get together around a table on Thanksgiving and celebrate the holiday together.
"I think we can all look back and think about our childhood, or many of us can and those family times, those family gatherings, they're just so nostalgic, and we look back at them with such happy memories, and we want to give that to other kids and other families as well," said Fay Flournoy, Director of Mission Advancement.
The meal offers a fully cooked ham or turkey and side dishes.
Every meal can feed a family of six to eight people.
Cultivate Food Rescue wants to make sure they address barriers like limited cooking space, rising groceries expenses, or food equipment.
"We think it's important that everybody in our community be seen and know that they're seen," said Flournoy.
Cultivate Food Rescue "I think this is going to be an annual campaign for Cultivate Food Rescue and for the community partners that we work with," said Flournoy.
