Police arrest driver involved in deadly crash on I-465 in Indianapolis
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Three people were killed and seven more injured in a multi-vehicle crash on the eastbound lanes of I-465 in Indianapolis near Keystone Ave.
According to the Indianapolis Fire department, a semitrailer truck crashed into a car that killed a woman and two toddlers.
The crash happened around 12 p.m. and it involved the semitrailer truck, a pickup truck with a mobile home trailer and other passenger cars.
According to Sergeant John Perrine of the Indiana State Police, the 57-year-old driver of the semi was arrested on three preliminary counts of reckless homicide & five preliminary counts of criminal recklessness causing injury.

It was reported by the Indy Star that the driver told officials that the crashed was caused by a white car that cut him off while was traveling at a high speed. He slammed on the brakes before hitting the cars in fronts of him.
Debris from the crash was scattered over the highway for three quarters of a mile.
The seven people who were injured were transported to the hospital.
The eastbound lanes remain closed as of 8:40 p.m.
The investigation is ongoing.
