Coroner's office responds to 2 fatal crashes in 2 hours

MARSHALL COUNTY, Ind. -- The Marshall County Coroner's Office responded to two crashes that resulted in three fatalities within two hours Tuesday evening.

The first crash happened when a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed on 5th Road went off the roadway and crashed into a tree around 8:30 p.m., according to the coroner's office.

Angela Riddle, 32 and Kristopher Riddle, 31, died as a result of the crash.

The coroner's office says neither occupant was wearing a seat belt.

The crash is under investigation by the Marshall County Sheriff's Office. They were assisted at the scene by the Polk Township Fire Department, Walkerton EMS and Reichert and Knepp Towing.

While investigating the crash on 5th Road, at 9:51 p.m., the coroner's office was notified of a fatal crash involving a motorcycle.

Neil Holderman, 32, was traveling southbound on Michigan Road near 3A Road when he was hit by a vehicle driven by a man from La Porte, according to the coroner's office.

Holderman, who was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, died at the scene.

The Marshall County Sheriff's Office is investigating. They were assisted at the scene by Indiana State Police, La Paz Fire, Union North EMS, the deputy coroner, and Reichert and Knepp towing.
