Cook Nuclear Plant Unit 2 back in service following automatic trip

BRIDGMAN, Mich. - Cook Nuclear Plant Unit 2 was returned to service early Saturday morning after the unit automatically tripped on Thursday because of high water in the unit's #3 steam generator.

When the unit tripped, Plant Operators followed protocol to safely remove the reactor from service.

Electric service to customers was not impacted.

According to Indiana Michigan Power, the high water in the steam generator was caused by steam generator water level oscillations at low power.

The unit was returned to power at 2:20 a.m. Saturday morning.
