UPDATE: The South Bend Fire Department shared updates on the Ewing Avenue commercial fire around 7:31 a.m.

The fire started around the first level of the building, but due to high heat, crews had to fight the fire from outside the building.

As of 7:31 a.m., 45 personnel are working on the active scene.

ORIGINAL CONTENT: SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Fire crews are responding to an active commercial fire in 1400 block of Ewing Avenue Monday morning in South Bend.

According to dispatch, calls for the fire came in around 5:15 a.m. Monday morning and 18 units came out to fight the fire.

No injuries have been reported, and the scene remains active as of 6:47 a.m.
