NOTRE DAME, Ind., Notre Dame’s football team will head to the Citrus Bowl without one of their starting players.
Head coach Brian Kelly confirmed today that wide receiver Chase Claypool injured his shoulder last week during practice. Claypool is set to undergo surgery on Tuesday.
He should have enough time to recover for spring ball.
“He understands he's just missing one game and that's the great part about it. This happens in the middle of the season, he misses five, six, seven games, so on the positive side he misses one game and he's back full strength going into spring,” said Coach Kelly.
Notre Dame is set to play Louisiana State University on New Year’s Day in the Citrus Bowl.
