CATCH HISTORY: Gameday itinerary for historic Hoosiers vs. Fighting Irish matchup
SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The official itinerary for Friday's Hoosiers vs. Fighting Irish playoff game has been revealed, with everything from tailgating start time to when the Notre Dame team walks to the stadium.
Gameday schedule:
Tailgate Opens at 8 a.m.- Those with parking passes to official on-campus tailgates will be allowed to start entering those lots at 8 a.m. When the game begins at 8 p.m., those lots will be cleared of tailgaters until the conclusion of the game. Tailgating will be allowed for up to three hours after the game in all official Notre Dame lot, except for the Burke Golf Course lot which will only allow tailgating for two hours after the game.
College Game Day Live from 3:30 to 7 p.m. in Front of Library- ESPN's nationally televised College Gameday pre-game show will begin broadcasting at 3:30 p.m. in front of the library on campus. That broadcast will conclude as the official kickoff of the 2024 College Football Playoffs takes place at approximately 8 p.m. A celebrity guest picker will join the traditional hosts of college football experts, including former Alabama head coach Nick Saban.
Bagpipe Band Concert Under the Dome from 4 to 4:30 p.m. - The Notre Dame Bagpipe Band will perform a blend of traditional Scottish and Irish tunes, along with a few Fighting Irish classics. The band will circle in front of the main steps, so guests are asked to stay on the grass or steps to give them space to enter.
Trumpets In Front of the Dome at 6 p.m.- Watch the Notre Dame Band trumpet section play traditional Notre Dame favorites in front of the Golden Dome at 6 p.m. on gameday.
Concert on Steps of the Dome at 6:25 p.m. - The Band of the Fighting Irish will perform on the steps of Bond Hall.
Band March Out at 7:10 p.m. - The Band of the Fighting Irish steps off from the steps of the Golden Dome and marches to Notre Dame Stadium.
Victory March - Team Departs Basilica at 5:40 p.m. - Weather permitting, Fighting Irish fans can gather in front of the reflecting pool at Hesburgh Library as the football team marches from the Basilica of the Sacred Heart into Notre Dame Stadium. The march also features performances by the Notre Dame Band, Glee Club, and Bagpipe Band. The march is expected to begin at 5:40 p.m. with the team arriving at the stadium at 5:55 p.m.
Kickoff at 8 p.m. - The Notre Dame Fight Irish play the first-ever home playoff football game when they welcome the Indiana Hoosier to Notre Dame Stadium on Friday, Dec. 20. The game is scheduled to kickoff at 8 p.m. on ABC57.
