UPDATE: The Cass County Sheriff's Office reports on Sunday around 4:07 a.m. deputies responded to a crash involving a car and a pedestrian.

The driver has been identified as 60-year-old Johnny Moore of Dowagiac.

The pedestrian has been identified as 30-year-old Dalton Prentice also of Dowagiac.

Authorities say the incident remains under investigation.

ORIGINAL: LAGRANGE TOWNSHIP, Mich. -- On Sunday, May 11, deputies from Cass County Sheriff's Office responded to a fatal crash resulting in a vehicle striking a pedestrian.

The fatal crash happened in the 5700 block on Wilbur Hill Rd. in Lagrange Township. Upon investigation the vehicle hit a pedestrian driving northbound. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. Names are being withheld pending family notification. 

Dowagiac Police Department, SMCAS Ambulance and Pokagon Township Fire Department assisted on the scene. 

The crash reminds under investigation.
