CASS COUNTY, Mich. -- Cass County residents have an opportunity to get rid of unwanted materials. The event will be held on Wednesday, April 23, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Cass County Road Commission located on 340 N. O'Keefe St., in Cassopolis, Michigan. The event is free to county residents but requires proof of residency in Cass County.

County residents may drop off used tires from cars and pick-up trucks, as well as a myriad of solid waste materials ranging from chemicals to electronics.

There is no cost to drop off tires. Those getting rid of hazardous waste may drop off up to 300 pounds per vehicle. After 300 pounds, there will be a charge of $1.74 per pound. Small appliances, electronics, metal items and steel will be accepted at no charge.
