Car strikes pedestrian in South Bend hit and run

The FACT team is investigating a hit and run that happened Monday morning.
Minutes before 7:00 a.m. Monday, 84-year-old John R. Jurek was walking north on Portage.
Police say a car traveling northbound hit Jurek, stopped momentarily, then kept driving north.
Jurek, who was wearing a reflective vest at the time of the accident, is in the hospital in critical condition from head and abdominal injuries.
If you've seen a small, cream-colored car with heavy front-end damage, you're asked to call police immediately.
