SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Two new polls released Sunday show former South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg polling third in Iowa ahead of Monday’s caucus.
An Emerson College / 7 News poll of likely Democratic caucusgoers in Iowa found 15 percent of voters planned to support Buttigieg.
He trails Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders, who leads with 28 percent, and former Vice President Joe Biden, with 21 percent.
Senators Elizabeth Warren and Amy Klobuchar follow Buttigieg with 14 and 11 percentage points respectively.
The second poll, from CBS News, also places Buttigieg in third behind Sanders and Biden but in a tighter race.
That poll lists Biden and Sanders tied at 25 percent and Buttigieg a few points behind with 21 percent.
