BENTON HARBOR, Mich. -- Several downtown businesses in Benton Harbor's Art District are offering up their opinions on the city looking to install paid parking kiosks in the area.
Several businesses are worried about people avoiding parking in the area because of the kiosks, which they believe would lead to a decline in revenue.
The city approved the purchase of two parking kiosks last week, although plans on when they'll be installed have not been released to the public.
Jackie Brown, General Manager at Bloc Dispensary, shared that she worries that the paid parking system would stunt the growth of Benton Harbor's emerging Art District.
ABC57 reached out to the City Commissioners Office and Interim City Manager and received no response.
