UPDATE: New charges outlined for Bremen man arrested after allegedly inappropriately touching a child
Marshall County Jail UPDATE TWO: We are learning the details of the charges Manges is facing in St. Joseph County. He was handed these charges the day after his arrest in Marshall County.
St. Joseph County police were called on May 17 on a report that Manges had allegedly assaulted a 14-year-old male at his residence. The alleged victim later told investigators that he was staying at Manges' home and the home of his maternal aunt. Manges allegedly asked the victim if he wanted to have his clothes washed. Manges then allegedly to the victim to take off his underwear. The victim tells investigators that, before and after he went to take a shower, Manges allegedly caressed his thigh.
Investigators say that, after taking a shower, the alleged victim was under a blanket. That's when Manges allegedly exposed himself and caressed and rubbed the victim's arms and thighs.
Documents show Manges took the victim home the following day. The victim alleges that he fell asleep and woke up to Manges groping his genitals in the car.
Manges later admitted to investigators that he had exposed himself to the alleged victim and previously had sexual fantasies about him.
UPDATE: The Madison Township Volunteer Fire Department Chief confirmed to ABC57 that Toby Manges is a volunteer firefighter.
The department states Manges has now been put on administrative leave with all access to the fire department restricted.
ORIGINAL STORY: MARSHALL COUNTY, Ind. -- Around 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, a 45-year-old man from Bremen was arrested on charges of Sexual Battery after allegedly touching a child.
The 45-year-old man, Toby Manges, was charged with Sexual Battery as a Level 6 Felony and Sexual Misconduct with a Minor as a Level 6 Felony.
Previously, the Marshall County Sheriff's Department received information that a child had been inappropriately touched by Manges.
Manges was then arrested around 4:30 p.m. Tuesday and booked at the Marshall County Jail. His bond has been set at $1,500.
