UPDATE: Police reveal South Bend morning shooting to be accidental, self-inflicted

UPDATE: SBPD announced Friday afternoon that the reported morning shooting in the 600 block of Indiana Avenue has been found to be an accidental self-inflicted shooting following further investigation.

Police say therefore this will not be counted as or considered a criminally assaulted shooting.

ORIGINAL: SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The South Bend Police Department is investigating reports of one person shot on the city's south side. 

Officials tell us they were called out to the 600 block of West Indiana Avenue shortly before 5 a.m. on Friday. 

Details regarding the shooting are limited at the moment and there's no information regarding the condition of the victim.
