SOUTH BEND, Ind. - The Boys & Girls Clubs of St. Joseph County is collaborating with the Irish Youth Hockey League to give kids a chance to learn the fundamentals of hockey during a six-week program in South Bend.
The COR Hockey program is completely free for participants, with all needed equipment being donated by the Irish Youth Hockey League.
Following the lessons, kids will then get the opportunity to join one of the league’s hockey teams. Every participant up to age 14 will also be able to play on the team for free.
The collaboration is designed to encourage physical fitness and teamwork on the ice. Through the program, both groups hope kids will learn to enjoy and appreciate the sport and the life skills it teaches.
