SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The Boys and Girls Club hosted a cleat show giveaway on Saturday to help ensure kids who want to play sports have the opportunity to participate without having to worry about the cost of gear.
Organizer Lionel Hardin says it's about more than just sports; it's about keeping kids safe in bad situations.
"We want to get people to support and just, you know, try to help and just make sure that these kids have an outlet, versus just these streets. It's a lot of negativities in the world, so it's all about positivity and good energy and just motivating these kids to be better and never give up believing in they self.", stated Hardin.
The giveaway was a big success, and Hardin says when he showed up around 250 people were lined up at the door.
