Bomb squad called out after 3 pipe bombs found

VAN BUREN COUNTY, Mich. -- The Berrien County Bomb Squad was called to CR 388 Wednesday afternoon after someone found three pipe bombs on the side of the road, according to the Van Buren County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies were called to the area just before 4 p.m. after a worker operating a mower found three pipe bombs in a ditch near the intersection of CR 388 and 23 1/2 Street in Pine Grove Township.

The Berrien County Bomb Squad was called to disable the bombs.

The Gobles Pine-Grove Fire Department also assisted at the scene.

The investigation is ongoing.
