UPDATE: Threatening email revealed as cause for cancellation of Board of Commissioners town hall meeting
UPDATE: The Pulaski County Sheriff's Office has revealed that on Sept. 5, a threatening email was received by several elected officials,
Authorities say the email stated certain elected officials would be injured or killed in a car accident.
Recipients of the email became concerned which caused the town hall meeting cancellation.
The sheriff's office spoke with the recipients and the Indiana State Police.
Authorities say the Pulaski County Prosecutors Office will be consulted, but the initial determination is that the statement did not rise to the level of criminal act.
ORIGINAL STORY: PULASKI COUNTY, Ind. -- The Pulaski County government leaders have decided to cancel the planned town-hall meeting originally scheduled for this morning at 9 a.m.
The meeting was supposed to be held at Celebration Hall but is now called off due to threats made against county leaders.
The county believes canceling the town hall meeting is the safest decision.
Law enforcement is currently investigating the situation.
