BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich. – The Benton Harbor Department of Public Safety is now looking for Daniel K. Autrey, a 24-year-old, in relation to the Sunny Spot homicide happening on Saturday, according to the department’s press release.

Officers were dispatched to the Sunny Spot, located at 895 Pipestone Street, for reports of a customer being shot inside the store on Sunday.

When officers arrived, they made contact with a 27-year-old Black man who was lying on the floor with an apparent gunshot wound.

Medics arrived, but the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. As of now, his name is being withheld for the sake of the family and will be released at a later date.

At this time, Autrey is a person of interest.
