ELKHART, Ind. -- The man in custody for the March 8 stolen vehicle pursuit and foot chase in Elkhart has been identified as Joshua Schultz, 25, of Sturgis, Michigan.

Schultz was arrested and booked into Elkhart County Jail on March 8 for preliminary charges of Possession of Methamphetamine, Auto Theft, and Resisting Law Enforcement-Vehicle, all level six felonies.

Bail has been set at $10,000.

Schultz is accused of fleeing from a traffic stop at N. Nappanee St. and Kilborn Street in a stolen vehicle, then leading Elkhart Police Department officers on a five-minute vehicle pursuit.

Schultz then allegedly abandoned the vehicle after crashing into a retention pond off Kinro Ct.
