Golden Tate and Brady Quinn sign autographs ahead of the big game
SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Big names are in town ahead of today's historic college football playoff game between Notre Dame and Indiana University. Notre Dame legends Brady Quinn and Golden Tate came to town for the game and sat down to sign autographs for fans at Dicks Sporting Goods in Mishawaka this afternoon.
ABC57'S own Eileen Bond got to speak with former Notre Dame wide receiver Golden Tate this afternoon as he met with fans.
"It makes too much sense for Notre Dame to be a part of this. We are a historic University, and it's only appropriate for us to be playing in the first ever home playoff game in college football. So I'm excited to be in this environment. I brought some of my buddies, one of which being an IU fan." said Tate.
"I like our chance. I think our defense is as strong as it's ever been. I love what Freeman has been doing. I think, you know, I don't want to look ahead, because the most important game is tonight. We got to handle this. But looking at if I had to look ahead, looking at Georgia, I mean, that's a dangerous team as well, but I do feel like they're beatable this year, so we're just gonna take it. We're gonna get through tonight, and then if we have the opportunity to play next week, which I anticipate and hope and pray, see what happens."
Both legends had major success playing for Notre Dame in the early 2000s. Now back in South Bend, both alumni are excited to be on campus and root for the Irish in this historic matchup.
