Ambulance crash leaves paramedic dead in Starke County
STARKE COUNTY, Ind. - UPDATE - Officials in Starke County have confirmed the deceased paramedic as Michael Wilcox and the second paramedic in critical condition as Brandy Salita.
Starke County officials state preliminary results of the investigation revealed the Starke County ambulance was traveling eastbound on County Road 800 S. responding to an emergency call.
It was reported at the time of the crash, the ambulance had its emergency lights and siren activated.
A vehicle traveling northbound on County Road 700 E. entered the intersection at County Road 800 S., colliding with the side of the ambulance.
This vehicle was operated by Eva Horan. As a result of the collision, the ambulance rolled over.
Horan was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.

A Starke County official confirms a fatal crash involving an ambulance happened Saturday at the intersection of 700 E and 800 S.
Officials say one EMS paramedic was declared dead at the scene and another was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
The ambulance was on its way to a call when it was hit by another vehicle, according to officials.
