UPDATE: North Judson boy found safe, AMBER alert canceled, suspect in custody

UPDATE 5 p.m.: Authorities announced Friday evening that Dwayne Clemons was taken into custody following a standoff with police.

UPDATE 10:30 a.m.: The Starke County Sheriff's Office reports Saxon Clemons has been located safely.

The alleged suspect, Dwayne Clemons, remains at large.

Authorities say all available resources are being used in the investigation to take Dwayne into custody.

UPDATE as of 9:50 a.m.: The Starke County Sheriff's Department has requested that the AMBER alert for Saxon Clemons has been cancelled. 

No other information has been released regarding the canceled AMBER alert. 

ABC57 News is currently working to learn more information from officials, including the condition of Saxon Clemons. 

UPDATE as of 8:30 am.: The Starke County Sheriff's Department released more information regarding the AMBER alert Friday morning. 

Officials say on Thursday, a female victim was dropped off at the Northwest Starke Emergency Room suffering from head trauma. 

According to the release, an investigation determined that the victim had been confided and assaulted by her husband, Dwayne Clemons. 

Clemons transported the victim to the hospital and then left the area with their 2-year-old son, Saxon Clemons, who was also in the vehicle.

Officials said the victim told investigators that Clemons was armed with a .45 caliber pistol and threatened the victim with the firearm. The report also said Clemons made threats to harm both the victim and himself. 

The Starke County Sheriff's Office had a search warrant executed at the Clemons residence in North Judson but were not able to locate Clemons or the child. 

Throughout the overnight overs, officers followed up on leads and checked multiple locations without success.

ORIGINAL STORY: NORTH JUDSON, Ind. -- A statewide AMBER alert has been issued as police search for a missing boy and suspect. 

Indiana State Police said they are searching for Saxon Clemons, a two-year-old and a suspect, Dwayne Clemons, 44. 

Police said Saxon Clemons is 2 feet and 4 inches tall, 30 pounds, blonde hair with blue eyes. He was last seen wearing a blue and gray sweatshirt along with blue and gray sweatpants. 

Saxton was last seen on Thursday, February 5, at 3 p.m. in North Judson. The boy is believed to be in extreme danger. 

Police said the suspect, Dwayne Clemons is 5 feet and 9 inches tall, 180 pounds, brown hair with brown eyes. He was last seen driving a silver 2017 Chevrolet Trailblazer with Indiana license plate CRS242.
