A purr-fect new spot for coffee comes to Michiana; South Bend's first "cat cafe"
SOUTH BEND, Ind.-- The cat is out of the bag, a spot in the South Bend Commerce has been transformed into a cat-lovers paradise.
The Cat Lady Cafe opened its doors this weekend and will begin its official hours this Tuesday, March 28th.
You can come in and grab a quick latte or leave with your next forever friend.
The cat lounge is available to rent out a spot where you can hang out with the cats, all of whom up for adoption.
Owner Kim Sult, has been affiliated with The Humane Society of St. Joesph County and is partnering with them, to bring her idea she picked up from a trip to London back in 2017 to life.
She told ABC57 it benefits the cats as much as it does the guests, a purr-fect business model,
"Just in this short time I've heard from people that is very therapeutic. They kind of forget about everything else. When you're hanging out with cats, it's just a nice way to relax."
With a few goals in mind,
"To promote adoption that's the main goal of this place and with getting the cats adopted. I was just telling people earlier…next time you come back there will be new cats here for folks to visit with. We really just want people to have a fun spot."
You can visit The Cat Lady Cafe at 401 E. Colfax Ave in South Bend or check them out of Facebook more details.
Reservations for the lounge are not required, but are advised, due to the popularity they are already gaining.
