59th Annual Leeper Park Art Fair showcased more than 80 artists
SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The 59th annual Leeper Park Art Fest was in full swing along Riverside Drive and Michigan Street.
The fair drawing in thousands of visitors over the weekend, where over 83 artists from across the nation came out to share their work.
I hope you feel some kind of sense of community and pride that a lot of these people are local, and also ones that have come from far away are here and excited to share with them, and that there's some kind of connection from the people in your immediate community, as well as the broader community," said Hedy Lane, the Fair Director of Leeper Park Art Fair.
According to Sunshine Artist Magazine, the art fair is ranked #34 in the nation for top fine art events. Lane expressing her gratitude for this achievement, stating, "We are so proud to be ranked so highly every year for the Sunshine Artist magazine. Set ourselves apart with the hometown feel. We're one of the few art fairs that get to be on grass in a beautiful park under trees."
All the funds from the booth and jury fees go towards the fair's operations, promotion, and awards.
Artwork that was featured ranged from various mediums, including paintings, photography, glass, jewelry, and even mixed media.
