Vehicle fire spreads to Chicago Street house

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The South Bend Fire Department was called to a home in the 500 block of Chicago Street early Tuesday morning after flames were spotted coming from the back of the home.

When firefighters arrived, they found a Volvo parked behind the house, which had caught fire.

The fire in the vehicle caused flames to spread to the siding of the house.

The fire was extinguished within 25 minutes of the 9-1-1 call.

The home was unoccupied at the time of the fire.

Firefighters said the cause of the fire is under investigation.
