SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Thousands of dollars are being donated to the South Bend Civic Theatre to help spread some holiday cheer to local families who might not be able to afford it.
The Downtown South Bend Business Group is donating $2,500 to the South Bend Civic Theatre in honor of the holidays.
The City is also hosting a ticket giveaway on Facebook for the Theatre's production of "The Christmas Schooner".
DTSB Officials said the theatre brings families together all year, particularly during the Christmas season, but the Theatre's executive director said it’s about more than just the shows.
"That physical geography of our location defines us and is almost a mandate of the work we need to be doing as a theatre and that is reflecting our community," said Aaron Nichols, Executive Director of South Bend Civic Theatre. "Building our community and being part of this conversation that's happening around the growth and the support and the nurturing of the citizens of South Bend.”
The Downtown South Bend Facebook ticket raffle will begins December 1st, the same day the show opens.
