Pfizer to raise drug prices in 2019

NEW YORK CITY, N.Y.— In mid-January of 2019, Pfizer will increase the prices of 10% of its drug portfolio.

Three of these drugs will increase by 3% in price, one drug will increase by 9% and the remaining 37 drugs will only increase by 5%.

According to Pfizer, the prices will be offset by higher rebates and discounts offered by insurance companies and pharmacies.

However, those with high deductible health plans and those without medical insurance will feel the price increase the most.

Pfizer representatives have yet to name the 41 drugs that will be affected.
