Pair charged in murder of 8-year-old child
BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich. -- A couple has been charged with murder in the death of an 8-year-old child, according to the Berrien County Prosecutor's Office.
Brian Morrow, 41, and Mia Morrow, 34, have been charged with first degree felony murder, possession of methamphetamine and possession of dimethyltryptamine.
The child's death was investigated by the St. Joseph Department of Public Safety after the child was found deceased at a home in the 700 block of Columbia Avenue on May 3.
Brian and Mia were arraigned on Thursday.
The court set a bond of $700,000 cash or surety. If released, they will be on a GPS tether.
There is also a no-contact order between Brian and Mia and no contact with anyone under the age of 18.
They will be in court again on June 10.
UPDATE: In March 2023, Mia Morrow was sentenced to 25 to 50 years in prison for second-degree murder as part of a plea agreement. As part of the agreement, her first-degree murder charge was dismissed.
In April 2023, Brian Morrow was sentenced to 22 to 50 years in prison for second-degree murder after pleading no contest to second-degree murder in February. As part of the plea agreement, his first-degree murder charge was also dismissed.
