SOUTH BEND, Ind. -South Bend Police say two people were shot late Wednesday night during a home invasion.
Saint Joseph County Metro Homicide says the shooting happened around 11:30 p.m. at a home in the 2200 block of South Kendall Street.
When officers arrived, they located two people with gunshot wounds.
Joseph Brown, 31, was taken to the hospital and later pronounced dead.
Dustin Bierwagen, 29, was taken to the hospital for minor injuries and released.
Brown and Bierwagen were roommates.
Metro Homicide obtained a search warrant and collected evidence from the home.
Metro Homicide's Tim Corbett said there were other people in the home at the time of the shooting.
“We’ve spoken to probably half a dozen people so far in regards to this case,” Corbett said. “There were people inside the house, there were people not in the home. There are varying degrees of what they’ve seen and heard," Corbett said.
Corbett says they are looking for two black men. They were seen in the area and ran off after the shooting.
