INDIANA - The Indiana State Police has partnered with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) for the 26th annual "Prescription Drug Take Back Day" taking place on Saturday, April 27.

The initiative is nationwide and aims to prevent prescription drug abuse and theft through proper disposal of prescription drugs.

Authorities say this collection is open to expired, unused, and unwanted prescription drugs, as well as liquid and pill medications, vaping pens without batteries, and vaping cartridges.

Needles, new or used, will not be accepted for disposal.

Officials state this service is free and anonymous with no questions asked.

Items may be dropped off at any Indiana State Police Post, except for the Toll Road Post.

The event is on Saturday between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
