SOUTH BEND -- A portion of the Fun F/X warehouse in the 1000 block of W. Sample Street has collapsed due to a fire that broke out Friday afternoon.
The fire was reported at 4:20 p.m.
Firefighters are working to get the fire under control, but have moved the media down the street for their safety.
Update at 8:00 p.m.
The Director of the Solid Waste Management District, which is located on Kerr Street directly behind the Fun F/X warehouse, said that they will be closed on Saturday due to the fire.
It is being reported that crews have cut off power to the building, meaning that the they will remain closed.
The Waste Management District is where things like TVs, paint, and other hazardous materials are dropped off to be disposed of properly.
The Director hopes to reopen by Monday.

The South Bend Fire Department is still battling the flames.
Update at 9:45 p.m.
No injuries are being reported. South Bend Fire Department Captain Gerald Ellis says that three people were able to escape the building Friday afternoon.
Parts of the Fun F/X warehouse have collapsed. The fire is contained but there are still flames.
A water tower is also at risk of collapsing.
