Driver killed in crash Friday morning in La Porte County

The La Porte County Sheriff's Office is investigating a fatal crash that happened on CR 400 N around 3:30 Friday morning.
When deputies arrived, they found a Jeep Grand Cherokee off the side of the road in a cornfield.
The driver, 64-year-old George W. Johnson Jr, was located next to the vehicle deceased.
The investigation revealed the Jeep was traveling east on CR 400 N when it left the south side of the roadway, struck several small trees, flipped end over end and landed upright approximately 200 feet from the road.
Deputies said they do not know what caused the driver to lose control of the vehicle.
