Berrien County barn fire kills one on Sunday
BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich. – A large barn fire in Berrien County kills one on Sunday just after midnight, Berrien County Sheriff’s Office said.
Dispatch received the call about a large barn fire on the 3700 block of Clawson Road. According to the callers, the barn was not near the house, but a family member was inside. Callers said the barn was partially collapsed, but an area of the barn that had a woodshop was still standing.
When police and fire crews arrived, that barn was fully engulfed in flames. When crews extinguished the flames, the crews searched for the family member that was inside.
Dustin Daily, a 43-year-old from Berrien County, was found dead inside the barn, according to deputies.
At this time, it is unknown how the fire started or how Daily passed away.
This fire is under investigation.
