Delphi murder trial pushed back

ABC 57

FORT WAYNE, Ind. -- The trial of Richard Allen, the man accused of murdering two teenage girls in Delphi in 2017 has been pushed back, yet again, from its most recent scheduled start date of May 13 to the new start date of Oct. 14.

In a pre-trial motion hearing on May 7, defense attorneys for Allen withdrew their motion for a speedy trial, citing concerns over having enough time to present their case.

The trial is currently set for Oct. 14 - Nov. 15.
