Warm and dry weekend
The Michigan Department of Transportation held an open house Tuesday night to lay out details on construction at the U.S. 12 and M-51 interchange.
The $27 million project will make some much-needed safety upgrades and road improvements.
The project will start with temporary pavement and traffic signals at eastbound U.S. 12 ramps near the M-51 intersection.
Then, southbound, center and center turn lanes will be addressed, and finally northbound lanes.
Expect delays, detours, temporary crossovers and even bridge removals during portions of construction.
Construction is expected to begin in October and wrap up by fall of 2024.
